Healthy Haircare Tips

1. Eat lean proteins, plenty of fruits and vegetables (oranges, spinach, broccoli), dairy and whole grains.

2. Try not to wash your hair everyday, every other day is better. Too  much washing can cause hair to become dry and brittle. Instead, use dry shampoo in between washes. I recommend batiste dry shampoo. It refreshes hair in between washes by absorbing the oils in your hair.

3. Try to avoid flat ironing, blow drying and curling hair as much as possible. Too much heat causes split ends and cause breakage. The less you do to your hair, the better.

4. Deep condition your hair at least once a month. A good deep conditioner is macadamia deep repair masque. At Ulta you can buy a sample size for $4. Rinse with cool water.

5. Drink lots of water

6. When hair is wet use a wide tooth comb, instead of using a brush. Wet hair is very fragile.

7. Trim hair often.

My Favorite Heat Protectant!

Sebastian Trilliant thermal protection and shimmer complex is my favorite heat protection spray ever! It conditions hair, creates shine, smells good, and protects hair. I tried many heat protection sprays, but they always seemed to either smell weird, leave a coated feeling on my hair or leave my ends dry. I always seem to go crawling back to Sebastian. This heat protection spray is a two part liquid that needs to be shook before every use. I would definitely give this product five stars. In fact, I did!

Matrix Hydratherapie Leave-In Tonic

A good leave-in conditioner, for us ladies with fine hair, is Matrix leave-in tonic. This will leave your hair soft, smooth, tangle-free, and more manageable. This product contains panthenol, which Is a really good ingredient for improving damaged hair. This ingredient also Seperates hairstrands to create a fuller look.

Sebastian shampoo and conditioner

If you are a person that needs moisture in your locks Sebastian Drench shampoo and conditioner is the way to go. In my opinion, this shampoo and conditioner can be used for all hair types. If your hair is fine you will only need a small amount of the conditioner and maybe a lightweight leave-in conditioner to achieve soft hair. For people with thick course hair use a generous amount of the conditioner and your hair will be left soft and shiny.

Paul Mitchell Skinny Serum

If you are looking to wear your natural waves, Paul Mitchell Skinny Serum is the way to go! It smooths down hair, while making it shiny and soft, without the greasy feel. I put a small amount in my hair, after letting it air dry for about a half an hour, and I'm good to go!
